POSITION SUMMARY

The Content Marketing Manager position is a new role here. It’s a full-time role and reports directly to the Marketing Director.

You will manage a small existing team and be responsible for building it out further. You’ll work cross functionally with numerous others on our marketing team like our Creative Director, Writers, Editor, Customer Acquisition Manager, SEO Manager, etc.

We are located in beautiful Austin, TX but are primarily a “virtual team”... so working remotely is not only possible, but likely. Compensation will be in the $50-70k + bonuses range and will depend upon your skills and track record.

You will be responsible for:

  • Driving profitable revenue growth in the content marketing channel (while important, you can’t deposit “likes” in the bank!)
  • Creating a strategic content marketing / editorial plan & calendar
  • Developing new workflows, systems and reporting (since this is a new role here)
  • Managing & building out our content marketing team
  • Developing & publishing all new content (articles, infographics, audios, videos, special reports, etc)
  • Ensuring all content is “on-brand”, consistent in terms of style, tone, quality and is optimized for both user experience as well as SEO
  • Leveraging data to identify opportunities and trends

How your performance will be measured:

Drives profitable growth in our content marketing channel by increasing:

  • Traffic / unique visits (via social, organic and house email channels)
  • New Leads / Email subscribers
  • New Customers
  • Revenue
  • Social Media Engagement (likes, shares)
  • Backlinks
  • Conversion rates (CTR, opt in and sale conv rates)
  • Improvements in email subscriber and customer retention
  • Decreases in sales / buying cycle
  • Improvements in brand reputation, survey and feedback data

To be considered for this role you must meet the following criteria...

MUST HAVE REQUIREMENTS

SKILLS:

  • Content marketing experience (minimum 2 years)
  • Editorial project / production management (minimum 2 years)
  • Editorial team development & management (managed a team of 2 or more)
  • Direct response marketing (minimum basic level understanding)
  • SEO (minimum basic level understanding)
  • Social media marketing (minimum basic level understanding)
  • Strategy & planning
  • Competitive research
  • Data analysis (ie. google analytics)
  • Software platforms / tools (ie. wordpress, excel, google docs, Hubspot, Buzzsumo, etc)

  • Strategic - you have vision and can create well thought out plans
  • Analytical - you easily identify trends, patterns, problems and create solutions
  • Executioner - you get things done, quickly with little or no errors
  • Great communicator - strong written and verbal communication
