The Role:

We’re looking for a proactive, detail-driven People Operations Generalist to join our team on a part-time, contract basis. In this role, you’ll support a wide range of HR functions—from employee engagement and benefits administration to compliance and employee relations. You’ll help carry out core People processes so our team can continue to attract, support, and retain world-class talent.

This is a behind-the-scenes, high-impact role for someone who thrives in remote work, enjoys supporting team members with unique or recurring questions, and brings a thoughtful, service-oriented approach to every teammate interaction.

What You'll Do:

Employee Engagement

  • Coordinate birthday, anniversary, and milestone recognition via Slack and other platforms
  • Support the administration of employee engagement tools and compile feedback for review
  • Assist with eNPS tracking and initiatives that contribute to a healthy team culture

Benefits Administration & Payroll Support

  • Partner with our PEO (Justworks) to support benefit-related tasks such as annual open enrollment, benefits selection, and general teammate inquiries
  • Provide light support in final payroll approvals, commissions, and supplemental pay coordination
  • Collaborate with Accounting and People Ops to ensure accuracy and timely completion

Employee Relations & Compliance

  • Assist with employee relations processes such as leave administration (FMLA, ADA, WC, etc.) and performance documentation
  • Support the preparation of compliant, unbiased termination documents and offboarding materials
  • Monitor policy updates and ensure accurate reflection in company documentation
  • Serve as a connector between the team and our PEO for policy or legal-related questions

Backup Support

  • Serve as a backup for pre-boarding tasks and light Talent Acquisition support, including interview coordination when needed
  • Help ensure a smooth handoff between candidate acceptance and new hire onboarding

What You Bring:

Must-Haves

  • 3+ years of experience in People Operations, Human Resources, or similar field
  • Proven success working remotely with minimal oversight
  • Experience in high-growth or startup environments where initiative is key
  • Proficiency in Google Sheets for tracking, formulas, and light data visualization
  • Familiarity with HR compliance topics including LOA, ADA, FMLA, and worker’s comp
  • Ability to follow and maintain documented processes

Nice-to-Haves

  • HR certification (e.g., SHRM-CP, PHR)
  • Prior Experience as an administrator w/ HRIS systems AND a PEO (preferably JustWorks)
  • Interest in improving or optimizing internal workflows
