Help Us Optimize the Engine Behind Our Mission:

Here at the Healthy Back Institute we are on a mission to transform the way people think about and treat pain. Since 2003, we have helped millions of people all over the world to claim their freedom from pain and start loving life again. Everything that happens at the Healthy Back Institute is rooted in our core values: Freedom, Love, Team, Growth, Excellence, and Courage. These values are the foundation of how we serve our customers and how we treat each other.

We’re looking for a Manager of Operations & Supply Chain who will own and optimize the systems behind our success. This role is ideal for a proactive, data-driven operator who thrives in cross-functional environments and isn’t afraid to dig into problems, drive performance, and ensure executional excellence across inventory, fulfillment, and vendor performance.

About the Role:

Reporting to the Corporate Controller, this role will lead our inventory, fulfillment, purchasing, and operational reporting functions. You’ll be the connective tissue between backend operations and our front-end strategy—ensuring supply chain reliability, cost efficiency, and performance visibility across departments.

You’ll work closely with Finance, Marketing, Tech, and Customer Experience to align supply chain operations with forecasted demand, campaign calendars, and customer expectations—driving clarity, accountability, and measurable business outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Own forecasting, purchasing, and inventory strategy to ensure products are in stock, accurately tracked, and purchased at the best negotiated cost
  • Oversee fulfillment operations and 3PL performance, ensuring timely delivery, shipping cost control, and SLA adherence
  • Monitor and report on key operational metrics—inventory health, refund rates, delivery timelines, vendor efficiency, and fulfillment cost
  • Partner with Finance to analyze fulfillment cost drivers, monitor procurement budgets, and inform strategic cost control efforts
  • Act as a cross-functional operations lead to ensure backend readiness for marketing, CX, and tech-related initiatives
  • Serve as an escalation point for executional risk or breakdowns in backend workflows, helping drive timely resolution and improvement
  • Partner with Finance to support budget control and operational forecasting through reliable data and reporting
  • Identify and resolve process gaps or bottlenecks that impact customer experience, profitability, or operational flow
  • Contribute to system upgrades, migrations, and cross-departmental operations initiatives with a focus on scalability and accountability

What Success Looks Like:

  • Inventory is forecasted accurately, stocked efficiently, and purchased at optimal cost
  • Fulfillment partners meet SLAs with reduced cost-per-ship and minimal refund/issue rates
  • Operational reporting provides clear, actionable visibility to Finance and Leadership
  • Backend readiness supports smooth execution of launches, promotions, and campaigns
  • Operational gaps are proactively flagged and resolved, reducing friction and enhancing CX

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years in operations, supply chain, fulfillment, or purchasing roles—ideally in a DTC, eCommerce, or fast-paced CPG environment
  • Proven track record of managing 3PLs, optimizing fulfillment, and driving inventory performance
  • Experience supporting marketing and CX functions operationally, especially in fast-paced campaign environments
  • Strong analytical and systems skills—comfortable building dashboards, modeling costs, and improving process KPIs
  • Confident collaborating with Finance, including cost tracking, vendor forecasting, and cross-department alignment
  • Project management experience preferred; comfort managing vendor timelines, system rollouts, or backend changes
  • Bonus points if you’ve worked with cost-of-fulfillment modeling, chargeback or refund trend analysis, or procurement-side financial planning
  • Experience managing a small team or cross-functional contributors preferred
  • Highly accountable, process-minded, and driven to align backend performance with customer experience and business impact
